im gonna try to bargain it down but this thing is like alien ware quality, custom built.

if i can get it ill start posting soon. if not, ill find another way, i promise.

edit: specs:

Let's see its got a 3700+ AMD 64 processor @2.2ghz and 1 gig of corsair ddr400 ram, xfx geforce 6600 256mb agp, rosewill 550W PSU, asus a8v deluxe motherboard, dvd/cd burner/reader of pretty much every type and speed, black case with crazy alien blue fans and...two 80gb SATA Harddrives raided to make them 160gb for backup

The poem-thinger meant my desires are an endless cycle. I won't stop until I get what I want. It's from a manga series.

 Good luck with the computers.

Is he giving you a monitor/mouse etc?

Because if he isn't, you could probably build one from cyberpowerpc for cheaper.

Then again, what all do you want to do with it?  Gaming, or basic internet/typing/drawing/storage etc?

My PC is exactly one year old! Can you believe it's still above the average? Pity it can't run the newest games at top specs anymore. Damnit. And it was damn expensive.

Anyway, my advice is instead of shelling out a fortune for a top of the line PC and not be able to afford one for the next three years, simply buy a new medium PC every year!

Not really worth it, unless you REALLY want the Alienware fanciness. You should be able to get the same thing new, in parts, for a fair bit less.

Yeah, I just parted that out on newegg, and you can get all of that (minus the fancy leds and such) for about $700 brand new. And unless you really feel you need it, you can build yourself a quality computer cheaper that will still play most new games very well and be plenty to last several years; somewhere in the $400-500 range. This doesn't include monitor, but it's usually pretty easy to find a decent crt somewhere for a couple bucks used.
